How to Enable Livestreaming to YouTube on Mobile

One of the most confusing aspects of YouTube mobile livestreaming is account verification and the 24 hour waiting period to be able to stream. In this article, we’ll go through everything you need to know about live streaming with YouTube on mobile.

First of all, with the Streamlabs mobile app, there is no limitation on follower count to stream to YouTube (if you’re using the YouTube app your channel needs at least 1000 followers). Click here to download via the App Store, and here to download via the Play Store. With the Streamlabs app, you can stream your camera and go live IRL, or broadcast your screen to stream mobile games like Minecraft, PUBG mobile, or Call of Duty mobile.

Now, there are three requirements to be able to stream to YouTube.

  1. Verify your account
  2. Go live attempt with YouTube Studio
  3. 24 waiting period

To verify your account, start by clicking here. You’ll be asked to enter a phone number, and will receive a verification code by text or voice call. Enter the code, and you’re good to go.

Once your account is verified, click the ‘Create’ button from the top right hand corner of the screen. I recommend doing this on the web, as you will be stopped from enabling live streaming on the YouTube app because of follower limitations (unless you have 1,000 followers, in which case, I bow to thee). Click ‘Go Live’ from the dropdown menu.

You will be brought to the studio with a popup that looks like this:

Unfortunately, there is nothing you can do but wait the 24 hour period, this is a limitation of the YouTube platform. When time is up, you’ll be able to go live right away, so head back to the Streamlabs mobile app and stream to your heart’s desire.
