Notes:

We are currently seeing users experiencing some higher CPU usage than normal. There are a variety of factors that may be causing this issue.

Troubleshooting

  • Check that your GPU drivers are up to date. Performing a "clean" installation of your GPU drivers can ensure that you do not have leftover files from previous drivers. You can do this by following this guide.
  • Create a new scene collection and add sources one by one to see if there is a source that is causing the CPU usage to jump significantly. (How to create a new scene collection)
  • Check that your monitors are plugged into your GPU and not your motherboard
  • In your Windows Task Manager, set your Streamlabs Desktop process priority to Low. (How to set process priority in Windows)
Note: If this works, you will need to do this each time you launch Streamlabs Desktop.

How to Share Your Cache

You only need to share your Cache if you are unable to get your Diagnostic Report

Windows

  1. Copy: %appdata% and press the Windows Key on your keyboard
  2. Press CTRL + V, and then press Enter
  3. Scroll down until you see the slobs-client folder
  4. Right-click the folder and select Compress to Zip File

MacOS

  1. Open a new Finder window
  2. Click Go and then Go to Folder
  3. Copy ~/Library/Application Support
  4. Scroll down until you see the slobs-client folder
  5. If you have the ability to compress the file, please do so by right-clicking the file and selecting Compress.

Sharing the file

  1. Add the folder to your preferred file-sharing website (Google Drive, Dropbox, etc).
  2. Add the link into the Diagnostic field or the Description of the ticket

Don't forget to make sharing permissions public!

How to Create a New Scene Collection

  1. Click on the drop-down arrow for your Scenes and select "Manage scene collections"
  2. Once that new window pops up, hit "Start fresh and build from scratch".

Now you have a fresh scene collection! You will want to add a minimal amount of sources to see if your issue is still occurring. If not, keep adding the sources that you were using before, checking to ensure that the issue doesn't pop back up.
