Have you heard the news? Streamlabs just released Collab Cam for Streamlabs Mobile on iOS and Android, which allows you to add a guest or additional camera to your mobile live stream using only your smartphone for free. In this tutorial, we’ll show you how to add a guest to a mobile live stream that hasn’t started yet, but Collab Cam also allows you to add guests mid-stream.
Below are the instructions for using Collab Cam for Streamlabs Mobile.
Note: Guests can join before your stream is live or one that’s already in progress.
iOS Instructions
- Select the Main Menu button, aka hamburger button (two horizontal lines), in the upper left-hand corner.
- Next, click Scenes, then select Create New Scene.
- Name your scene, then choose between a Premade Layout or a Custom Layout. For the sake of this tutorial, we’ll be using a custom layout, which gives us a blank canvas to work with.
- Next, select Layers at the top right of your screen.
- Click the plus sign (+) next to Layers.
- Select Add a Guest.
- Input the name of your guest, then click Save.
- Next, share the link to join your live stream with your guest. Remind them to select their preferences when prompted on the screen and to click the green Join button.
- From the edit window of the Collab Cam scene, you can adjust the placement of your guests' video. Additionally, by clicking the gear icon, you can adjust your guest’s settings (audio and camera), copy the link to share for a guest to join, or generate a new link.
- Click Preview to see your guest’s camera. From there, head back to the home screen of your Streamlabs Mobile app and hit Go Live.
Android Instructions
- Select the Main Menu button, aka hamburger button (three horizontal lines), in the upper left-hand corner.
- Next, click Scenes, then select Create a New Scene. If you don’t see a Scenes option select Go to Advanced Settings, then Continue, then create a new scene.
- Name your scene, then choose between a Premade Layout or a Custom Layout. For the sake of this tutorial, we’ll be using a custom layout, which gives us a blank canvas to work with.
- Next, select Layers at the top right of your screen. Tap Add layer.
- Next, you can use Collab Cam two ways. You can add your front or back camera as an additional cam by selecting Add a Camera or add your guest’s camera by selecting Add a Guest.
- When you select Add a Guest, input the name of your guest then tap Add. Once you’ve saved the camera settings, you’ll see both cameras and/or your guest added to the Layers of your Collab Cam scene. You can adjust the size and placement of these cams in your Scene.
- To invite a guest, go to your scene and tap on the guest cam. Tap the gear icon to access Settings. From here, you can adjust your guest's settings (audio and camera), then copy the link to share with your guest to join, or generate a new link.
That’s it! You can begin streaming with your guest or using Collab Cam as a second camera. If you’d love to try this amazing free feature but aren’t sure how, check out this list of multi-camera stream ideas using Collab Cam for Streamlabs Mobile.
