How to Stream on YouTube

New to YouTube? In this tutorial, we'll walk you through how you can stream on YouTube with Talk Studio. You will need a YouTube account first, so make sure you have your login credentials or by creating an account before you begin.

Once you're ready, sign in to Talk Studio:

1. Enable Microphone and Camera

If this is your first time logging into Talk Studio, be sure to allow your browser to access both your camera and microphone. If there are any issues you encounter, simply reload the site and grant access to your camera and microphone when prompted. You can also double-check this by clicking on the lock icon located to the left of your browser's address bar.

2. Add Yourself to the Stream

Now you want to add yourself to the main Talk Studio canvas, which is the screen in the middle of the site after logging in. Whatever appears on this screen is what will appear on stream. Add yourself to the canvas by hovering over your camera feed and clicking Show on Stream.

3. Verify Your Account

Next, you will need to verify your account with YouTube. This is a crucial step if this is your first time streaming to YouTube and may take up to 24 hours to verify.

Once done, please go directly to your YouTube Studio and click Create > Go live.

4. Go Live on YouTube

The next step is the last verification step in order to verify your YouTube channel which may take an additional 24 hours. Select the permission type for your stream. There are three options to choose from:

Public

Private

Unlisted

Public streams mean that anyone on YouTube can view your stream.

Private streams are the most secure type of streams on YouTube. They are only visible for up to fifty people you invite. But remember, they don't appear in search results or recommendations.

Unlisted streams are a hybrid between public and private streams, in that an infinite number of people can watch the stream at any given time, but your video won't appear in search results or recommendations. Viewers will be also able to share your stream link with anyone they wish.

After you've selected the option, click Next and input your stream title and description. Once you're ready, click Go Live to stream directly from YouTube. You will only need to this once, even if it's for a short 2-second stream. Once YouTube has verified your channel, you will now be able to stream from Talk Studio to YouTube at any time.
